Case Study

The Brief

To design and construct a leisure building to house a Hot Tub to be supplied & installed by us with an integral lounge area for relaxation and socialising with open access to the garden.

By designing a structural steel solution two sets of commercial grade aluminium bi-fold doors open up the entire front elevation to the garden & patio providing all year round use come rain or shine, hot or cold. Simple convenient access is via a single door utilising the step in the building profile without the need to routinely use the bi-fold doors.

To ensure comfort and to deal with humidity issues arising from the Hot Tub a climate control unit was installed to dehumidify and recycle the heat to maintain a suitable air temperature. This project in particular benefited from the work we undertake with our sister brand Freedom Leisure offering an extensive range of leisure products and services having the necessary expertise & experience in-house not requiring 3rd party involvement but an integrated solution delivering a truly ‘turn key package’.

Design Notes

The presence of a number of large specimen trees required that piled foundations were employed to avoid damage to root systems or any subsequent ground movement.

The site was seriously waterlogged as the garden was a collection point for the runoff from neighbouring properties so as part of the landscaping of the garden, we carried out the excavation of large areas of ground, levelled and a comprehensive system of land drainage was designed and installed.
