Case Study

The Brief

To form a communal garden room linking a 2nd reception sitting room as a part of a previous extension, the dining room, and the galley kitchen which was redesigned as part of the project flowing into the new building. This involved repositioning the door within the kitchen and reconfiguring the waste drainage to service the new layout.

High performance aluminium windows & doors were used to match those currently in the property.

In order to complete the functionality of the room two sets of hemlock doors with twin side panels were custom made and installed by our carpenter replacing the existing exterior doors and brickwork.

Design Notes

Since the period in which the property was originally built construction standards have changed considerably requiring extensive additional steel fabrication to structurally support the new build against the original property identified by our own structural surveyor and working with building control.

To enhance the traditional styling of the orangery an optional GRP moulding was used creating a ‘feature fascia’.
